Question:
I have done ImuPro Complete and in addition two more tests for IgG food allergy. The results were not consistent – how can that be?
Answer:
Comparative tests between several providers of IgG food allergy testing have shown that the results are often not comparable.
This is due to the following reasons:
- There is no mandatory standard for the quantification of results. This means that even with an identical signal obtained, the result might be different depending what standard has been used.
- There is no mandatory standardization for the allergen extract. Each kit supplier has different extracts in terms of quantity used and quality.
- Another important factor is the blood collection. Capillary blood on dry spots and serum will always yield slightly different results. The reason: With serum, you exactly know how much of it was used because you use a calibrated pipette. By putting a drop of blood on a paper you never know how much volume you effectively put in the paper. Therefore quantification is literally impossible.
One can clearly state what differentiates ImuPro from competitors:
- ImuPro uses the WHO standard for IgG: This is a standardized preparation for the evaluation of IgG concentration in human serum. This is the best and most reliable way to determine IgG concentration.
- ImuPro uses certified extracts which are also used in IgE testing and most of them are FDA approved.
- ImuPro labs also have to participate in internationally organized ring trials to prove their quality and reproducibility. ImuPro is the only product in IgG food allergy testing worldwide doing this. This assures the customer to get the best quality possible.
